Sara is one of the women Amirah Foundation have helped and she tells us her story, in her words. Her life has been filled with abuse, whether by her alcoholic father or abusive husband.

Alhamdulillah, praise belongs to God, it is with Amirah Foundation's help that she has now turned her life around.

There are thousands of women who need your help right now. I am saddened that I have to ask for the help of British women. We are not a "third world" country, most of us live decent lives. More and more British Muslim women are converting to Islam. Yet, on the behalf of Amirah Foundation, I am urged to say to readers that women are being victimised in public view. It's common. But it needs to stop.
