In the name of God, Compassionate, Merciful بسم الله الرحمن الرحيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

For the Muslim celebration Eid ul fitr which was at the end of September, 09, I sent out several HUNDRED Eidy greeting cards. The majority of my friends and family received these on time.

[see my mailing mania from October] [check out my eidy photos here]

One didn't.

The Royal Mail service here in the UK has had walk outs and tiffs and union conflicts for several months now meaning our post doesn't get to anyone on time. There was a report in local news of a household receiving a postcard from 1969. Ooh heck.

I sent an "Eidmas" greeting card to a brother Muhammad Bin-Mounir in Cairo, Egypt. He told me a month after I sent it that he didn't get it. I was going to let it go, only the pack came to me.. last week in December. It is over two months late.

This time it was the Egyptian mail-men who didn't like my pack, covered it in tape with Arabic script and dozens of stamps then sent it back to me. WHHATTT??!

Someone translate that for me...

I wanted to send it back again to defy the delivery service but what's the point.

To bro. Mounir - THIS is what you coulda received.

- Hubba Bubba

- Fizz Wiz (crackling sugar)

- Terry's Chocolate orange [advert here]

- Lovehearts (platonic lovehearts)

- Fudge

- Gingerbread my [my FAMOUS hot men]

- Swizzlers lolleepopp. yum.

So as you didn't get them bro. Mounir and most of it was smushed and expired. I Ated It All.

Blame the Egyptians. Grrrr!

SHALL I SEND ANOTHER ONE?

From personally experience, it is HARD to send and recieve mail from there, subhanallah.

@Mayah - understood. I didn't think it'd be an issue much as I posted to several other African places. *shrug* Insha'Allah next time I'll ask for forms to ensure delivery.
Do you know what the Arabic reads? I can't figure it out. =)
