Message of the Week
In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم
Advice (nasiha) from Imam Abu Eesa Niamatullah,
'I will say to you what my teacher once said to me:
فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَكَذَلِكَ نُنجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
"And so We responded to him (Prophet Yunus), and We saved him from distress - and it is thus how We save the Believers." (Qur'an, 21:86)
And then he told me hafidhahullah straight after:
وَنَجَّيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
When they (I and my students) encounter difficulties of any kind, especially from other people or the government or persecution or whatever: it's all about imaan, taqwa and reliance upon Allah alone.
The two verses above show that it was because they believed in Allah correctly and purely (as al-Mu'minoon), they exhibited God-conciousness at all times (as Yattaqoon), and they asked Allah alone hence He "responded to him".
Keep going - all of us have to keep on going - and not care about the help or lack of, the popular support or lack of, or the ease or lack of. This religion has always been about the Strangers - the Ghurabaa - hence named because everyone writes them off, everyone considers them outsiders, everyone calls them strange. And this is a blessing for the Prophet ﷺ (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), "So give glad tidings to the Ghurabaa'!"
