Deracialisation: "Make me whiter"

With the recent change of retired ballplayer Sammy Sosa's appearance I've been bombarded with racialist slurs similar to the hoo-haa over Michael Jackson. Much comedic material is throwing around and reactions from people include "Sosa, get down with your brown". Funnee.

In Asian and Arab cultures, skin lightening and lightening products have been around for decades, it's a norm (but uneccessary). In the UK skin lightening is apparently on the up which is strange considering sun beds are the rage for that 'sun kissed ethnic look', but eh. I found this video explaining some of the Skin-drama and the lengths people go to for that pasty look.
