Fevershamian Dinner

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِالرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with youالسلام عليكم

Behold! cookery in its gloriousness:

As'salamulaaykum!

I thought to do a post on a dinner party my mother held to invite her other Teachery Friends around from Feversham College (in case you didn't know my parents are teachers).

We spent the previous day in the kitchen laughing away like old women, my mother, sister and I, making various culinary delights, most of which were eaten there and then. *burp* He he.

Home made carrot & apple juice - it separated so although it looked like dishwater it tasted yummy and pure.

'Proper' Indian kebabs.

Fruit tartlets made with homegrown red currants (did I mention we're gardening freaks?), mango, strawberry glaze and whipping cream. We made 30 but I ate around 4... Whatttt?!

Strawberry jelly trifles with crushed nuts and dyed coconut. Yep, DYED COCONUT like a rainbow.

In posh wine glasses these went down a treat.

I'll invite you round next time, insha'Allah!

  1. Wa alaikum as salaam, OMA, KEBABS(not to mention Indian, so I have a right over them,LOL)!! Yummy! Send some over straight away! My address is . . . . . . . . . hehe. Mango glaze?! Amazing! Strawberry jelly, yummy, but not really a fan of coconut, but still, cool that it was dyed. Uh oh Sis, don't eat any more, you'll get fat! LOL! hehe. Wow, though that sounds like such a good time, just the ladies creating and enjoying each others' company. Another reason life is/can be so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing! Makes one feel right there with ya!
