Message of the Week

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. (Qur'an 36:36)

Surah Ya-sin, named after two letters of the Arabic alphabet. Traditionally this chapter is read for its in-depth narration of previous nations and the consequences of believing in accountability. 'Tween you and me though, I've seen Surah Ya-sin come out of hiding during funeral prayers more than anything else.
---------------------------------------------------------
  • By the Sun (shams) and its brightness (91:1)
  • And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it (91:7)
  • He has succeeded who purifies it [their soul], (91:9)
  • And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. (91:10)
Surah Ash'Shams, a Qur'an chapter entitled The Sun. Shams is the Arabic root of Seamus, the Irish name, as well as the Divine name for the shining star which Allah swears by, that is, takes an oath by. Me likes the Qur'an, it's an unparalleled peace and truth.
