Word of the Day: Re-gentrification

Word • Re-gentrification, noun.

Meaning • when upper or middle-income persons buy and renovate buildings in deteriorated urban neighborhoods thus improving property values but at the detriment of lower-income communities, this is known as gentrification

Example • "A Muslim practices fair business; avoiding the displacement of smaller businesses and families by building and contributing to the economic system fairly. While gentrification is a halal aspect of business, consideration for others heightens the ethics of work."
