February issue of EMEL is out now!

In the name of God, compassionate & merciful بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ | Peace be with you السلام عليكم

Emel is a Muslim magazine promoting the Muslim lifestyle, preaching peace. I've been a subscriber and fan from the first issue (emel is nearly 7 years old) and this has led to some kh'amazing encounters (mostly where I chase after the interviewed people with scary faces until they give in - a proven befriending technique) and births of beautiful iconic Muslims; emel is one of the best platforms online and offline for showing off our 'Muslimness'. {www.muslimness.com} ah, shameless plug.

Front cover: Faisal, the award winning Saudi photographer

As a subscriber I get emel a week or so earlier than retailers. February's issue has an ecclectic mix of Muslim beatboxing by a very cute Muslim boy... What?! Alhamdulillah. It includes a Saudi photographer, gorgeous spangles, hardcore Greek food, a deaf Muslim Sabina Iqbal *mucho respect*, Japanese definitions, games reviews and a bajillion other things that I forget right now because I just got home from a 2 day Islamic course where I didn't take a breath analysing the 29th juz and am sat on the floor with today's notes on Muhammad the tree-hugging Prophet (will explain later) and am typing blurred things in a shoddy checked manshirt and lopsided headscarf. I swear, I can't find the scarf pin on it. IT WON'T COME OFF! *waaaaaah!*

  1. Wooooooooooooooow, I am so envious that you have access to the Al-Maghrib courses and get to learn so much. Enlighten us O Zaufishan, with thy discourse and words full of knowledge.
As for the magazine, totally awesomeness! There was a really cool magazine called Islamica, in the States, great content ma'sha'allah and I bought a few copies at the bookstore as new issues came, but sadly, its now on hiatus as funding was too low, but it was presented so well and in the States, we really need a publication showing what Islam really is and not what they see in the media, that will bring a better understanding to the wider American population as well as helping ourselves in learning more about our Faith and its role in today's world.

(BREAKING NEWS: I just Googled it, and apparently, its been relaunched earlier in 2009, YAY!!)

Anyways, hope Emel continues its success in the coming years!
