Printing Vests

Felt compelled to experiment on some vests. One idea is as follows...

  • Ingredients: acetate stencils, black fabric paint, sponge rollers & masking tape. Stenciling through the acetate is pretty easy and any patchy parts I was able to correct with a smaller triangular cut sponge & paint brush.

  • Little man stencil approx. 3-4 inches, cut with a craft knife. Three different stencils used.

  • Acetate stencils don't create a uniform neat edge. It adds to the 'homemade' look although it isn't to any neat standard; I like neat things. Using an ink brush with diluted ink helps.

  • With no final design in mind I'm 'wingin' it... Nearly there.

  • Final vest print. So I went with silhouette men hurtling with gravitational speed towards nothingness. This will need fixing with high heat & a wash to remove extra residue before it's ready to wear. What do you think?
